Vulnerability Builds Trust
Simon Sinek's view on helping others and solving problems together at the office is a concrete path towards harmony and innovation. Edgar Schein’s contributions to Organizational Culture and Psychology in the 1980s still holds true till today. One of his concepts is humble inquiry which, when fundamentally interwoven within the organizational culture, creates an environment of positivity and conviction.
Humble Inquiry
Humble inquiry is a genuine curiosity about others that leads to building rapport and ultimately trust. When we learn about others’ vulnerabilities and strengths, we know how that person can best be utilized. No one is, or should attempt to be, a know-it-all. This genuine interest in our colleagues ultimately creates task interdependence and strong teams where trust is an innate value, not a forced one (that you usually see posted on office walls).
Camaraderie
Camaraderie is one of the desired elements of an organization people seek that helps the organization maintain engagement and retention. Once managers have implemented the concept of humble inquiry, walked the talk, and praised their team members on the spot, they have fostered a culture of camaraderie, not competition.
A Growth Mindset
A growth mindset is necessary for individuals to evade a comfort zone, accept mistakes, learn from them, and keep moving. This mindset leads to Organizational Learning, a win-win for the organization and its humans. Organizational know-how lies with loyal employees, those who take risk, and those who make mistakes. Risk-taking and mistake-making are wins for the organization. This is when knowledge is created and transferred which gives rise to a culture of sharing, learning, and trusting; all behaviors that lead to increased employee engagement, higher retention, and making your company an employer of choice.
Incorporating Humble Inquiry on Your Team
Edgar Shein is an Organizational Psychologist with immense research and contributions in the realm of organizational culture. His coined term “humble inquiry”, describes a genuine curiosity towards others. This inquiry, which may require vulnerability, is intended to build trusting relationships. Taking this a step further with regard to organizations, team members who exhibit genuine trust and have knowledge of each other’s talents, perform better than those who are in a distrusting, competitive environment. Consequently, humble inquiry is the foundation that creates task interdependency, an ongoing helping situation, which we usually hear as “Hey, that was great teamwork!”

I have over 15 years of HR and OD experience. With a strong foundation in Psychology, Counseling, and Human Resources, I discovered my true passion for Life Coaching. During my training, I was fortunate to have several peer coaches. Despite initially feeling hesitant about coaching, I soon realized its immense value as my coaches guided me through various aspects of my life.
The cornerstone principles of coaching — accountability and commitment — played a pivotal role in helping me achieve my goals and overcome obstacles that I had long ignored. As a result, I felt a profound sense of clarity and purpose, propelling me forward with renewed energy towards realizing my aspirations.
Alongside Life Coaching, my journey led me to discover my specialization in Organizational Development Coaching. With over a decade of experience in OD since 2009, I’ve come to understand OD as a dynamic organizational facet dedicated to nurturing both personal and professional growth, placing a strong emphasis on fostering interpersonal relationships.
My approach to OD Coaching is deeply rooted in the principles espoused by Edgar Schein, emphasizing humble inquiry and a profound understanding of human dynamics within organizational contexts.

Life coaching is a transformative process that helps individuals achieve their personal and professional goals. Through guided sessions, a life coach provides support, strategies, and accountability to help clients overcome obstacles and make positive changes in their lives. nswer to this item.
Here’s a simple definition: Coaching is an action-oriented goal-based approach to help you achieve transformation, and in this, the coach will be your partner and guide. Unlike mentoring, consulting, or therapy, where someone is giving advice and telling you what to do and how to do it, you will decide your own way forward. Also therapy is focused on the past, while coaching is present and future focused.
Life Coaching is foundational to Organizational Development Coaching. In OD Coaching, the organization is the client, it is the people – your strengths, your personal and professional challenges – who will be supported to ultimately deliver results for the organization.
Results vary depending on individual goals and commitment. Clients often see improvements in areas such as career development, personal growth, relationships, and overall wellbeing. The outcome weighs heavily on client commitment in executing agreed upon action steps.
All conversations are absolutely confidential between you and your coach. In fact, we will ask you to sign a two-way confidentiality agreement. We adhere to the ICF ethical guidelines. More is explained in the OLC Policy which you will receive after our first call.
According to our policy, no refunds will be issued. However for any unused hours, you can gift them to someone else, as long as they are also interested and willing to be coached.
This is something important to discuss with your coach, as great coaches always value and welcome feedback. Coaching is a collaborative, action-oriented process that involves setting goals, taking actionable steps, and maintaining accountability. It also requires a strong commitment from the client. To ensure coaching aligns with your needs and goals at this time in your life, you’ll have an initial Chemistry Call to determine if it’s the right fit for you.
